The first official chase for the Northern lights 2011/12

Hi folks.

So there we are. The 22th September I brought my first guest out in the beautiful nature of northern Norway to find clear skies and to see and photograph the lights. The weather was great as it has been almost since June this year. Although clear skies during the day turned into some clouds later in the afternoon, so we had to do a search and wait- operation :)

We headed for the coast of Troms and ended up in Grøtfjord as the last stop. We had actually been the earlier in the evening just to find it covered by clouds. After a small retreat the sky cleared and we had some nice bands from low in the horizon to a over-head display. Not so intense and colorful a s it can be, but a nice start. During a break in the activity we moved out to Grøtfjord again and after a short waiting it started again. Even with a small corona straight over-head.
